Video Game Violence

Video Game Violence

The world is getting digitalized day by day. Technologies are becoming parts of everyday life. The situation now existing in the society is that people are so much into digital devices that they can hardly live without it.

One of the major changes in the society is children are more interested in playing video games which is known as computer game rather going to field and playing sports. They spend most of their time playing video games and it is assumed that this video games are making them aggressive.

The American Psychological Association (APA) considers violent video games a risk factor for aggression.[1] In 2017, the APA Task Force on Violent Media concluded that violent video game exposure was linked to increased aggressive behaviors, thoughts, and emotions, as well as decreased empathy. However, it is not clear whether violent video game exposure was linked to criminality or delinquency.

The after effect of this violent video games are many. Desensitization is one of the bad effect of playing video game. Players of the violent video game don’t feel the natural human emotions like getting touched by seeing people‘s pain, don’t get shocked seeing blood, even if some one`s getting killed. They get normalized killing, stabbing the opponent in the game so in real life they don’t find any difference in it.

The longer that individuals are exposed to violent video games, the more likely they are to have aggressive behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. These effects have been seen in studies in both Eastern and Western countries. Although males spend more time than females playing violent video games, violent video game exposure can increase aggressive thoughts, behaviors, and feelings in both sexes.

Aggressive behavior is measured by scientists in a number of ways. Some studies looked at self-reports of hitting or pushing, and some looked at peer or teacher ratings on aggressive behaviors. Other studies looked at how likely an individual was to subject others to an unpleasant exposure to hot sauce or a loud noise after playing violent video games.

Unfortunately, few studies have been completed on violent video game exposure and aggression in children under age 10. There is also little information about the impact of violent video game exposure on minority children.

This is not proven by the law that this kind of war zone video games are making people committing crime and making them aggressive. But it is not deniable that a person who played a war zone violent video game like Delta Force:The Black Hawk Down must have the after impact of aggression and violence that he just experienced while playing that game.

Florida school shooting 2018, Columbine High School Massacre and Shooting are some extreme examples of attacks that conducted by the video game players who were trying to develop the next level pf the video game that they were playing

Video games are more likely to be a material of experiencing things that can motivate the players not should be something that encourage players to be aggressive in their real life. In action games where the players himself destroy the enemy or opponent to win the game started to think that the game is no more different than real world.
